London singer/songwriter/producer/remixer MNEK rocks a hightop fade like no other. Also, he unexpectedly covers Disclosure ft. AlunaGeaorge’s ‘White Noise’ today, quite the bassline-driven rework.
Clara La San writes another free song, ‘Love Lost’, atmospheric piece that is self-written and self-produced. Very impressed with the quality of these projects, and the pace at which new tracks keep emerging.
HM for more actual songs. ‘The Joke We Lived Isn’t Funny Anymore‘ is a new nice track by Norwegian songstress Ohsowhy and Canadian band Naked House. Onto the UK, Bambi is a new indie band from Chelmsford and their first track is free: ‘All Along‘. And Atlas Genius have a new download available this week titled ‘Centred On You‘.
House stuff. Should’ve posted this yesterday. Another track from Amtrac’s ‘The Scheme’ EP, this time it’s ‘Preacher’. Had a few more listens and this is definitely the winner of the EP. Oh Brother.
House HMs. Track from Copenhagen, KANT released ‘Get On Up’ with some borrowed MJ Blidge samples. The track is part of the ‘Low Fat Fashion‘ EP. Lucky Cub reworks André 3000′s ‘Heya‘ in a remix that’s pretty impossible to pigeonhole. This also goes for his more recent Kelis remix. Both awesome. Karera Records is pushing ‘The Basement‘, a track by Players Club ft. Buds Pensuer. Fair to say, feels much more like a rework on Pretty Light’s ‘Finally Moving’. Last in this segment, Fred Everything remixes CJ Hilton’s ‘Losing You‘.
Mashup. Vivaldi is back in the game. Fissunix got together with Romain Frati and CLT, setting up a remix on Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ (The winter part) and topping it off with Empire Of The Sun’s ‘Walking On A Dream’ acapella and some additional movie clutter. Especially the EOTS vs. Vivaldi combination is very entertaining.
